It's time

Like what Zhe An said, time is running out and look at the side, we have less than 86 days now.

All of us must work hard now, and this apply to every single one of us. No matter whether you're a senior or junior, you must always remember that no matter how good you think you sound already, there is always areas and places to improve. There is no time to waste anymore. During band practice, be sure to have a pencil with you no matter what, and write down whatever notes you need to on your scores. And even when Mr Tan stops the practice, you should be still staying back for a while to practice on your own instead of packing up immediately and leave. And also help out the librarians to set up or keep the chairs before and after band. It can't always be the librarians to do this; all of us must chip in and help.

This SYF is extremely important; and I'm sure deep inside all the members' hearts we would hope to stop getting the silver medal for once and strike a gold instead. But how can we strike it when we have members going on holidays without even informing their own SLs or the majors? Or when we have members who would rather go shopping with their parents, go for their own class chalets/BBQs, or go for tuition etc. I'm sure these matters could be postponed to another day, instead on days when we have band practice. Like what Mr Tan had said; throughout the entire holiday, there was never once that we actually have a full main band. Tell me, how can we even be close to a gold (let alone strike it) if such things keep happening? The secondary fours are going to have remedials from Jan 12 onwards, and this will definitely affect the band. So sec 2s and 3s, please, no matter what reason it might be, attend band practice. Every single one of you is important and crucial to the band. For those who have not been to SYF before, you might not understand how important maintaining that silver might be, but I'm very sure the seniors do and might have told you how it feels like being on the stage etc.

Like what Sally said (quote from tagboard), listen to your seniors or ex-seniors say or point out during sectionals. The only reason why your senior point out your mistake is so that you can improve. Only with improvement, then the band will sound good, and naturally you will feel good. Most importantly, you don't play for your seniors or the band, you play for yourself. You will only improve if you want to. And this 'want' comes with alot of determination and hard work. Don't only talk the talk, but DO the talk.

Always remember, we will only know whether our hard work paid off or not on the day of SYF (or the Judgment day as I would call it) so if you want it to be good, then start working hard. The worst thing is to regret that you have not practised hard enough after you step out of the concert hall on that day. If you do not want to feel this, please, start working hard. Now. It's always better late than never. Not only the majors want the gold badly (lol), the seniors and the EX-SENIORS want it badly too!! So yeah.. START TO WORK HARD.

Last but not least, please do your homework! HAHAHA. We need ALOT of posters to paste around the school! And pasting of posters will be on monday. Make yourself available. :)

Audition dates are on this coming Monday (05/01) and Wednesday (07/01). CCA Exhibition is on the Friday (09/01).
